Elopements

For The Ones Who Find Home in Wide Open Spaces

I work with couples who feel most themselves when they’re in a four-wheel-drive headed beyond cell service, surrounded by wide-open spaces, and allowing the day to unfold naturally.

If that aligns with you, you’re absolutely in the right place.

The years at the wedding venue taught me the inner workings of traditional weddings: timelines, vendor relationships, family dynamics, traditions couples keep and traditions they quietly let go.

That foundation is what allows me to guide my eloping couples with clarity. I understand traditional weddings deeply, which makes it easy to help you decide what’s worth keeping and what you’re happier leaving behind.

It also showed me that there’s no “right way” to get married. Some couples cling to tradition. Others rewrite the entire day. And some land somewhere in the middle. Helping people honor their values without the noise or pressure became something I genuinely love.

Somewhere in the middle of all those adventures, I realized my purpose is to help people feel deeply seen on one of the most meaningful days of their lives.

Eloping can feel intimidating when you don’t know where to start. Many couples haven’t had friends or family who’ve eloped, so everything from permits to timelines can feel like new territory.

I’m here to make it simple, to create a calm and meaningful experience, and to help you plan a day that truly reflects your relationship—not a tradition or expectation.

I’m here to be the friend you spend the day with, making everything feel effortless and joyful. I’m not here to convince anyone to elope. I’m here for the couples who already know they want a wedding filled with intention, experience, and heart, couples who value quality moments over production.

The Ultimate Adventure Begins Here

I’m Makayla!

I’m 26, a storyteller at heart, and I would genuinely do this job for free if life allowed it.

Photography isn’t just my career; it’s the place I feel the most myself.

My story has never followed a straight line. This shows up in my art.

At eighteen, I graduated high school in Ohio and immediately flew west. I spent a month exploring, hopping on the Salt Lake Express shuttle because I wasn’t old enough to rent a car but determined to see everything.

I later lived in the Philippines for a year teaching people about our Savior Jesus Christ, which shaped my love for connection, service, and the beauty of everyday humanity.

The next year I moved to Idaho for college, and then—very quickly—left to pursue photography full time in Ohio where my parents began a successful wedding venue right after Covid.

Things really started to take off from here.

Savannah & Preston

Wyoming

I’ve photographed love stories in the Sahara Desert, explored the highlands of Scotland and Ireland, wandered the coasts of Spain, and captured moments at the salt flats of Utah. I’ve also worked in the national parks of the American West, the beaches of Florida, and charming cities like Charleston and Savannah

No matter the location, the theme is the same: my couples want a wedding day that feels soft, honest, and real.

A day without pressure. A day that lets you breathe.
